Nutrition Program

We are so happy to announce that Tapleytown Elementary School was selected to participate in the Tastebuds Student Nutrition Snack Program as of February 2026. 

This exciting opportunity will help support healthy eating habits and provide nutritious food options for our students.  We are grateful for this partnership and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our school community. 

Universality:

• The program is available to ALL students regardless of their socioeconomic background and ability to pay.
• All students are made to feel welcome and the program does not stigmatize or single out students from low-income families.

Nutritious Food In A Safe Environment:

• Tapleytown Elementary School follows all public health regulations relating to food premises.  
• The snacks are offered out of the main office and are available throughout the day when needed.
• The snacks offered are nutritious and follow the SNP Nutrition Guidelines.
• The snacks offered are inclusive and sensitive to the faiths and cultures of the students.

Funding:

• Provincial funding for the program was allocated to Tapleytown Elementary School to purchase nutritious snacks for students.
• Orders are completed regularly based on need, followed by monthly activity/financial reporting.
